One day workshop on “Career Avenues and Higher Education Perspectives in Mathematics” Organized by Mathematics Department

A one-day workshop on “Career Avenues and Higher Education Perspectives in Mathematics” was organized by the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with IQAC of the college on 27.11.2021. The main objective of the workshop was to motivate and to create awareness among the students about the career options and higher education for Mathematics students. Mathematics students of all the classes participated in the event. More than 200 participants have attended the workshop. The main speaker of the workshop was Dr. Harsha Arora (Asso. Prof. of Mathematics). She talked about top higher educational institutes in Mathematics like TIFR, CMI, IMSc, IIT, IISERs, HRI, CUH, NBHM IISC, etc. The various scholarships and entrance exams were also discussed in the workshop. Different courses like data analytics, Machine Learning, aeronautics, integrated M.Sc, B.S, M.S, Integrated Ph.D., KVPY, Olympiads were also highlights of the event. Further, the speaker talked about the career options and research for Mathematics students. In the last, a short motivational and inspiring video was shown to the students.
