7 Days NSS Camp from 22.02.2021 to 28.02.2021

7 Days NSS camp is started in college from 22.02.2021 with the theme “Healthy Youth for Healthy India”. Total number of 110 volunteers participating in the camp. They were divided in 4 groups consisting of 25 volunteers and 1 team manager, and 6 senior volunteers Arti, Mahak, Sonam, Anju, Shruti and Priyanka were selected to supervise activities.

Day-1 (22.02.2021) Activities

In the Opening ceremony of 7 Days NSS camp, chief guest Mr. Anil Kumar, NSS Program Coordinator, Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar welcomed with NSS clap. First day of camp was started with physical activities like yoga, race, P.T. etc. After that Rangoli competition was organized in which 7 teams of NSS volunteers participated. Volunteers made beautiful rangolis on the theme “Healthy Youth for Healthy India” and gave message to follow healthy lifestyle. On this day volunteers performed cleanliness work in college campus. Day-2 (23.02.2021) Activities

On the second day, camp was started with Self Defence training from 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 A.M. After that, there was a lecture on “Effect of addictions on wealth” by Dr. Randhir Singh (Assistant Professor of Psychology). Volunteers have tea break from 11:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. Volunteers have First Aid training by Dr. Randhir Singh (BAMS) from 11:30 A.M to 12:30 P.M. There was Poster Making Competition from 12:30 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. on the topics “Environment Conservation”, “Climate Change'', “Beat Plastic Pollution”, “Use of 3 R’s strategy”, “Reduce environmental pollution”, “Natural resource conservation” in which 20 volunteers participated. Volunteers had lunch break from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. After lunch break, 50 volunteers went to the old age home “Shaishav Kunj '' Kaimri Road and served old age people, remaining 50 volunteers performed cleanliness work. From 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. There was a singing competition in which volunteers enjoyed alot.  In which Simranjeet Kaur secured first position, Jyoti was second and Muskan got third position.


Day-3 (24.02.2021) Activities

Volunteers were given Self Defence Training from 9:00 A.M.- 10:00 A.M. After that, there was a lecture on “Nutritional values’ by Dr. Shashi Kala Yadav (Associate Professor of Home Science) from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. Tea break was from 11:00 A.M. -11:30 A.M. After that, First Aid training was provided by Dr. Randhir from 11:30 A.M. -12:30 P.M. Group Singing Competition was organised from 12:30 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. Lunch break was from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. After lunch break, 50 students served old age home “Shaishav Kunj” Kaimri Road.  Remaining volunteers performed the work of development of the park in front of the administrative block in college. From 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M., there was a mehndi competition.

Day-4 (25.02.2021) Activities

From 9:00 A.M. to 10 A.M. Self Defence Training was given to volunteers. An interactive session on “Personality Development and Stage Anchoring” was conducted by Ms. Shaina ( Assistant Professor of Commerce) from 10 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Volunteers had refreshment from 11:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. From 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. First Aid training was given by Dr. Randhir (BAMS). After that, till lunch time students devoted time on the development of NSS Eco Park. Volunteers had lunch break from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. After lunch, volunteers conducted a survey in Neoli Kalan village in the group of 20 volunteers.After dinner, there was solo dance competition was organised.

Day-5 (26.02.2021) Activities

The day started with prayer. After that, physical activities were done like P.T.,Yoga. A lecture was delivered by Mr. Jagdeep Chahal from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. 11:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M. was tea break for volunteers. First Aid training was imparted from 11:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M. After that, volunteers spent time on development of NSS park and painting walls with the message of “Healthy Youth for Healthy India”. Volunteers had lunch break from 2:00 P.M.- 3:00 P.M. After lunch break , again volunteers performed a survey in the group of 20 volunteers in Neoli Kalan village and remaining volunteers continued their painting work. Volunteers had break from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. There was a group dance competition among volunteers from 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.

Day-6 (27.02.2021) Activities

At the beginning of the day, after having prayer volunteers had done yoga , P.T. and other exercises. From 11:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M., first aid training was imparted. Development of the park was done till lunch break. Lunch break was given 2:00 P.M.- 3:00 P.M. After lunch break, volunteers continued Survey in Neoli Kalan village. After dinner, there was skit competition on the theme “Healthy Youth for Healthy India”.

Day-7 (28.02.2021) Activities

Like other days, the last day of the camp was also started with prayer and physical exercise. Volunteers had 200 mtr. Race and lemon race competition. Volunteers had lunch break from 1:00 P.M. -2:00 P.M. After lunch break, there was a closing ceremony of the camp. The Chief Guest in the closing ceremony was Dr. Bhagat Singh, State Programme Officer, Mr. Rabinder Kumar Sahoo (Instructor from JMS) and Mrs. Sarita. They were welcomed by Principal Madam Dr. Asha Saharan. Dr. Bhagat Singh in his address told volunteers that camp is just a beginning, the feeling of devotion and selflessness learned in the camp should inculcate in every volunteers’ basic nature. Ms. Parveen Chahal (NSS PO) throwed light on the working of NSS, and seven day camp. Volunteers presented cultural activities on this occasion. Medals were distributed to the winners of different competitions. Gifts were also given to housekeeping staff for their selfless service. Vote of Thanks was presented by Ms. Shaina Tehria (NSS PO). All the Volunteers were filled with the spirit of NSS which is “Not Me But You”.

NSS One-Day Camp (14.03.2021)
NSS one day camp was organized on 14.03.2021 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. in this camp cleanliness work in college campus was done.

National Service Scheme Cell of Government College for Women in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, organized an online workshop on “Psychosocial Support during COVID Pandemic Situation” on 14.06.2021.

NSS Cell of Government College for Women, Hisar celebrated International Yoga Day 2021 on the theme “Yoga For Wellness” on 21.06.2021.

In order to bring a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhta, Government of India has started the celebration of Swachhta Pakhwada under Swachh Bharat Mission. In order to contribute to this initiative, NSS of Government College For Women, Hisar also celebrated Swachhta Pakhwara From 01 August -15 August. NSS Volunteers devoted two hours daily on the cleanliness of college campus and maintenance of parks. Volunteers motivated students to keep the campus clean, stop littering and use of dustbin. At the time of flag hoisting on 15 August, Principal Ma’am also stressed upon the vision of Mahatma Gandhi regarding Swachh Bharat and importance of Cleanliness and encouraged everyone to imbibe the ideology of Swachhta Pakhwara, in their routine life.
