Speech Competition on “History of the Red Cross” Organized by Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club

A speech competition was organized on the theme “History of the Red Cross”. World Red Cross Day originates from the significant events following World War I, where the Red Cross made significant contributions to fostering peace. The 15th International Conference in Tokyo in 1934 presented the Red Cross Truce Report, outlining principles to protect wounded soldiers during conflicts. However, it was implemented during World War II in 1946. In 1948, the Board of Governors of the League of Red Cross Societies advocated commemorating Henry Dunant’s birth anniversary as the founder of the Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). To make the students aware of the history of the Red Cross, a speech competition was organized. Principal,Dr. Ramesh Arya motivated the students to participate in such programs, made the students aware ofthe Red Cross,and congratulatedthe Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club for organizing such typeof events. Dr. Anita Taneja, Convener of the Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club also informed the students about the history of the Red Cross and the purpose of organizing this type of program. Sh.Satish Singla, Sh. Amit Bansal and Sh. Anil Budhania performed the role of the jury. Ms. Shaina, Ms. Monikaand Ms. Kamlesh were incharge of this program.A total of 11 Students participated with full of enthusiasm in this event and elaborated on the history of the Red Cross by their speech. The results are as given below- Hitanshi of BCom-II having roll number 122451003003 got the first position, Isha of BCom-II having roll number 122451003029 got the second position, and Pooja Rani of BA-II having roll number 122451002256 and Annu of BA-I having roll number 1230170291 got third position.
