“Business Idea Presentation Competition” Organized by Commerce Association

The Commerce Association of Government College for Women, Hisar under the aegis of the Department of Commerce has organized a “Business Idea Presentation Competition” on 13.04.2023. The theme of the event was “Startup-From Ideation to Reality”. With this competition, our main aim was to motivate the students towards inculcating entrepreneurial skills and providing practical exposure to them. On this occasion, respected Principal Sh. S.S. Dhanda informed the students about the importance of entrepreneurship especially for girls and motivated them to participate in such activities and build their business acumen.
Further, Sh. Satish Singla, Head of the Commerce Department said that innovation is the seedbed for entrepreneurship which is the need of the hour.
The event was hosted by students of B.Com IInd year, namely Shaleeni and Mamta. They briefed about the event and informed about the rules and regulations. The event was a stellar success and witnessed the total participation of 31 teams with 144 students. It was organized in two phases. At first, the 31 teams were assessed on the basis of their creativity, presentation skills, innovation etc. Students presented their innovative ideas such as Purana Niptara Naya Savara, Tech fly, fashion week, graphic design, quilling jewellery, daycare centre, gift world etc. After the preliminary screening, from these 31 teams, 6 teams were selected. Mr Manjeet Singh, SAAC head, Government College, Hisar and Sh. Satish Singla, Head of Commerce Department served as the jury for the competition. These teams gave their influential presentations in front of the Jury.
After their presentation, a question-answer session was there. Finally, the top three teams were selected by the jury. The first position was given to team “Shringar”, which was a handmade jewellery and accessory business, the second position was for “Chai Kafi”, a tea cafe and the third position was given to “The Real Annapurna”, a mom-style food delivery service. All the winning teams were given cash prizes and certificates.
