An awareness lecture on HIV/AIDS Organized by Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club

An awareness lecture on HIV/AIDS was organized on 23.01.2024. The resource person of the day was Dr. Anita Taneja, Convener of the Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club. She informed the students about the causes likeHIV is spread from the body fluids of an infected person, including blood. It is not spread by hugs, shaking hands, or sharing food. It can also spread from a mother to her baby. She also described that the infection progressively weakens the immune system with fever, headache, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, weight loss, diarrhea, and cough. There are chances of diseases like tuberculosis, infections, and some cancer due to AIDS. There is no cure for HIV infection. It is treated with antiretroviral drugs, which stop the virus from replicating in the body. She also elaborated on the social attitude towards HIV/AIDS patients. Principal Dr Ramesh Arya congratulated Dr Anita Taneja for making aware the students about HIV/AIDS in detail and motivated to organize such type of activities. Total 65 students have participated in this activity. At the last students interacted and asked questions and got solutions. This session was very informative and useful for students. All the students participated in this activity with full of enthusiasm.
