One-day online webinar on the topic “Financial Literacy and Money Management Programme” organized by Commerce Department and Women Cell

Department of Commerce and Women Cell organised a one-day online webinar on the topic “Financial Literacy and Money Management Programme” on 13.09.2021 through the Zoom app. The objective of this webinar is to create financial literacy awareness among students. The trainer/speaker of the webinar was Ms Tripti Bhatia who is Financial Education Trainer by NISM & Resource Person of SEBI. The trainer deliberated on the basic financial skills and investment options and she said that there are two investment options, one is an investment that grows in value like property, gold etc. and the other that generates your income such as bonds, NSC, PPF etc. She also explained the working of mutual funds and the different schemes available for investment under the mutual funds. She said the before investment one should go through the rules and regulations of investment. She also highlighted the documentation process of investment in various financial products like bonds, equity shares, debt, SIP etc. After that questions and interaction session was held where students showed their keen interest by asking a relevant questions from the trainer. A total of 70 students of our college from the different streams participated in this event and they learned a lot from this webinar. All the members of Commerce dept. and Women Cell was also present in this webinar.
