About The Placement Cell
Training
and placement cell activities are perhaps the most important virtue of any
institution. It is imperative for all colleges to have a placement cell, where
students can learn about the industry connect and understand the nitty-gritties
of the corporate world. Placement and Job Fairs are regularly organized by the nodal colleges at district level as per the directions of Director General Higher Education, Haryana.

The Placement Cell, GCW-Hisar is a student run
body headed by teacher convenors appointed by the college administration
working towards the common goal of getting all the students placed in various companies.
It is a team of 05 diligent individuals striving towards calling the maximum
possible companies to the campus for placements.
Variety of activities are
arranged under the placement cell like Conducting aptitude
tests, seminars, Group discussions, guest lecturers by Industrial experts and
Soft Skill workshop. The placement committee takes efforts to
call the companies for campus placement.

The career development
process includes self-awareness, career exploration and job placement. In order
to realize this process, the Training and Placement Office performs the
following activities

Professional Tour
In order
to understand the working of Corporate Sector, the T & P Cell plans and
executes visits of pre-final/ final year students to different Industries/
Organisations located in different regions of India to get right exposure and
opportunity for training.
- Guidance
for Higher Studies in India or Abroad
Those
considering careers in higher education or its related fields will be offered
detailed career guidance at the Training and Placement Cell to facilitate their
admissions in Prestigious Institutes to pursue higher studies in specialized
areas (e.g. Indian Institutes of Management, IIT .
- Organization
of workshops/ seminars for training on Emotional Intelligence
- The
Central T & P Cell plays a very important and key role in counseling and
guiding the students of the university for their successful Career Placement,
which is a crucial interface between the stages of completion of academic
program of the students and their entry into avenues of suitable
employment. Soft skills are a quite essential qualification
for professionals aspiring to move up the value chain especially attitude,
communication and presentation. The T & P cell conducts Technical, Aptitude
and GK tests every week for enhancing analytical skills and general awareness
of students. Group Discussions are organized to promote skills of interaction
in group and leadership styles. The company executives/ employers will be
invited to share their valued expertise on various topics, workplace situations
with our students, current trends and future scenario. Eminent management
personalities are invited to conduct workshops on Personality Development,
Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Time management, Memory Management etc.
Participation of students in activities that provide them all round personal
and professional growth will be promoted. Thus this Cell will coordinate
various activities/ organize programs such as Career Goal Setting/ Planning/
Mapping, Mock Interviews/ Interviewing Techniques, Group Discussions, Case
Studies, Job application preparation, Resume Writing and Referral, Professional
Portfolio Development, Dressing Sense, Business Etiquette, Technology
Management, Personal Effectiveness for Girl Students, Special training for
Socially Backward and Tribal Students etc.
Placement Cell Activities 2021-22
- A National Level Online Workshop on
“Awareness on Vacancies in Government Sector – Insurance and Banking” was
organized by Placement Cell in collaboration with Alumnae Association on 21.09.2021
through Zoom meeting. Sh. Sukrut Bhushan, Director of SSB Institute, Mumbai was
the resource person of this workshop. A
- One-day Online State Level Workshop on
the topic “Financial Planning for Young Professionals” was organized by
Placement Cell on 23.11.2021. This session was organized on World Investor Week
(22.11.2021 to 28.11.2021) in association with HERMONEYTALKS (a financial platform
working towards women’s financial wellness) which is supported by the Investor
Awareness Program of BSE India. A total of 93 students from different colleges
participated in this workshop.
- An Extension Lecture was organized by
Placement Cell on “Graduation Dilemma and Examination Stress-Discussion and
Solution” on 7.12.2022. Dr. Rajesh Verma, Assistant Professor, Psychology,
F.G.M. Government College, Adampur delivered the keynote address. A total of 95
students attended the lecture.
- A Three Days Workshop on "How to
Crack the Competitive Examination" was organized by the Placement Cell
from 07.12.2021 to 09.12.2021.The keynote speaker of the workshop was Anil
Kumar, Director, Lakshya G.K. classes. A total of 111 students participated in
this program.
- Entrepreneurship Development Club under
the aegis of Placement Cell organized a Business Idea Presentation Competition
on 24.12.2021.4 students presented their business idea on Network Marketing,
Shifters the Packers and Movers, Cosmetic Shop, and Mushroom Cultivation. Dr. Manjeet
Singh made the students familiar with the startup programs and also informed
them about the assistance provided by the incubation centre for starting up
their start-ups as per the direction of DGHE.
- A workshop to guide the students
about “How to Start a New Business After Graduation” was organized by Placement
Cell on 5.4.2022. Resource person was Sh. Dharamvir Singh, Sh. Manjeet, and Sh
Amit kumar from SACC Hisar.
- A One Day Career Counselling program on
“Awareness on C.A. as Career” approved by ICAI was organized by Placement Cell
on 12.05.2022 for the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
- An Extension Lecture on
“Start-up Ideas” was organized by Placement Cell on 25.05.2022. A team of five
members from F2DF Firm Narwana counselled the students of college about various
start-up options as per their skills.
